|The 29th Annual Beauty and the Beast Convention:
Windy City Dreams: With Love, All Things are Possible
July 13 - 15, 2018
|You are cordially
invited to the Chicagoland area (Naperville) for another tremendous
fan-run convention! Never in this city before, there is much to see and
The Embassy Suites is our host, and the entire hotel is elegant and spacious. Full breakfasts and happy hours are included, although this group needs little encouragement in the happy department! Each double queen room is a suite, offering refrigerators and microwaves. Just across the street is an entire center of restaurants covering all ranges of food and prices – sure to meet anyone’s needs.
The three days of the convention will be packed with fun and interesting programs. We have one confirmed guest and a few very hopeful. Terrance Ellis (Rolley) will join us and be a part of the fun and festivities. Don’t forget to bring your dollars for Beast Bingo, and lots of them for the charity auction. The Dealer’s Room will have a few treats as well!
If you have the time, do come for the week and experience our tremendous add-ons! Chicago is a fun city with much to offer. It was very hard to pare down the opportunities into just three days of activities! Your choices are: Get to Know Chicago; Culture, Schmulture; and Keepin’ It Local! Visit the website to learn more about them. You won’t want to miss out on all the fun!
And with the con tradition, we are supporting a local charity: Greenhouse Shelter, run by the Chicago Abused Women Coalition. Women formed this group to help women who experience domestic violence. The shelter takes in women and their children, providing a safe haven as they struggle to get their lives back on track. This includes crisis intervention, safety planning, counseling, shelter, and legal advocacy.
They also provide a broader range of services to help stop the cycle of violence, to educate other organizations how to help, and how to get help sooner for those in need. Domestic violence knows no ethnic, racial, or financial boundaries, and left ignored, the violence often escalates to death. Organizations like CAWC offer hope and help and need our support.
Half the fun of the con is seeing everyone again, so do come and share in the hugs!
