Indian Chai Tea

Serves many


4 cups water
2 tea bags (Orange Pekoe or Black)
10 green cardamom pods (or crushed cardamom, if you can't find green pods)
8 whole cloves
1/8 tsp fennel seed
4 cups milk
Sugar to taste


Combine water, tea, and spices in a pan or pot. Heat, uncovered, for 10 minutes or until the liquid is reduced by half.

Add 4 cups of milk and bring to a boil.

Add sugar to taste

Simmer for 10 minutes, then strain and serve.
