Javanese Meat Balls

500 gms minced steak
1 onion chopped
2 cloves garlic crushed
2 red chillies or 1 teaspoon chili powder
2 eggs
3/4 teaspoon anchovy or fish paste
1 dessertspoon coriander
1 teaspoon cumin
1 dessertspoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice
oil for frying


Mix all ingreds together so they are thoroughly blended. Shape them into 1" balls and fry in deep smoking oil till brown and cooked through. Serve with plain boiled rice or a salad.
