Vincent and Catherine talking to Eric.

Question of the Day

What do you think?

When did Moreno go corrupt? What evidence were we given?

Winterfest is over and no new entries can be accepted. Here are the entries added during Winterfest.

We dont have alot of evidence as to how long Moreno was corrupt. I feel it is implied that he'd been so long enough for Gabriel to know that he'd follow thru with taking care of Catherine and keeping Joe suspended- unlike Elliot, whom he really didnt know how he'd perfom. Therefore Gabriel had the Compass Rose rigged to detonate if he changed his mind.

There wasn't much about him prior to S3. He was hard hitting, the boss's boss. If events would have been different with Catherine, it would have been cool to have her uncover corruption right under her nose in the DA's office.

As the twig is bent, so grows the tree. I believe Moreno could have been minutely crooked as far back as college and law school. Did we ever hear where he went to law school? Did we see him sidestep or take shortcuts before?? This has got me ready to rewatch the show for clues.

Well, I guess when he did his best to keep Joe out of the office after he recovered from the explosion, the latter should have begun to be suspicious. I don't think there ever was any hint that could have made us think Moreno had changed over to the dark side, so to speak, prior to TLBL.

From time to time I have entertained the idea that Moreno might not have been so much corrupt as coerced. Sometimes it's easier to intimidate someone into collusion than to seduce them. The Moreno Joe respected may well not be "for sale". But what would he do to protect his family?

----- Cannot remember any concrete hint to that. During the first 2 season he was ralely seen and hadn't had much of a storyline. But as he stopped Joe right from the beginning he must have been on Gabriels payroll for a longer time I guess.

Since we rarely ever saw him, there really isn't much evidence to that. It is possible he was always corrupt but kept it low key until the black book surfaced and things threatened to explode around him and he had to act.

There wasn`t that much possibilty to see, as Cathy didn`t often get to see the Boss. But there always then the political carriere to form a storyline.

the season changed and the storryline changed and all of a sudden in 3rd season he was corrupt. No clues earlier for me, even though I did never like him. Die Geschichte musste für die 3. Staffel umgeschrieben werden und plötzlich war er korrupt. Mir ist vorher nichts aufgefallen, abgesehen davon, dass er mir von Anfang an unsympathisch war.

I'm not sure when it started. They did a good job of covering it, but I think he may have always been corrupt. We weren't really given any evidence that it happened slowly. It was like all of a sudden "Though Lover's Be Lost" came around and Moreno was corrupt. But I think there was a lot we didn't see, which is why I say he was always corrupt. Although with no evidence I think Catherine and Joe would tell me I have a very weak case. lol
